About me

Phantom in Paradise

Here's  a quickie about me. I've been a Phan now for over 13 years.  Phantom of the Opera was the first book I ever read and I was hooked ever since. Lon Chaney's 1925 version was the fist version I ever saw. Most of my concept of characters come form that movie. Even though I like ALW's musical I do not consider myself a complete musical Phan. I love all things Phantom and try not to limit myself. I had Phantom engraved on my Class ring as well as have two my tattoos. I also Do lots of Phantom related art. I sang tenor for two years in my high school choir and have done many Phantom related performances. If I could I'd play Phantom professionally on Broadway, but who knows it could happen.

Phun Stories

A Phantom who haunts
Newport Harbor's Theater

It so happens that your Phantom was mostly a Tech threw High school. What's a tech you might ask? Well at our school it was a club of  theater technical workers, who for the most part wore black clothing due to having to run around stage unnoticed. I mostly hung out in the cat walk and the light booth. Well The Jr. high school decided to use our theater for their production of Cinderella. I was spot 3 which incidentally was the same spot Winslow used in Phantom of Paradise. Any way I was dressed like Phantom because I wanted to scare one of my friends who was playing Cinderella during the 1st performance. So here I am standing working the spot and I'm leaning out of the booth just enough so she could see me. Not only did she see me and almost loose it it seems every one in the cast had seen me as well. I thought nothing of it until one day wile walking down the hall at school i heard i kid say something about a Phantom that haunts spot 3. I even heard a story years latter. I was in art class and I over heard, as I obtain due, a conversation about Newport Harbor Highs School's Theater. They were going on about the suppressions and then one of them started in on how Phantom haunts spot 3. I almost told them, but in the sprit of Phantom I let me reputation precede my self. To this day I still hear roomers.

To make matters worse

I often sung after school, in the girls bathroom or upstairs in the science lab. Well I thought no one ever heard me. I guess just because you can't see people does not mean they can't hear you. Well I started to hear roomers from kids about a ghost's voice who sings up stairs. I even was told by a friend that teachers where starting to wonder. Well one day it was getting quite late I think about five in the afternoon. I thought that Elizabeth and I where the only ones who where around, but I was wrong. I was in a fit of sinning frenzy in the girls bathroom when I heard something, so stopped. Now I was singing tenor in the girls restroom so I shut up real quick. I heard nothing else so I decided to go back to the drama room where Elizabeth was sitting. Well a few minutes latter in walks this girl I had never seen before and she's all
"Do you know why there was a guy sinning in the girls restroom ?"
Elizabeth looked at me as my face started to turn red I new she was going to spill the beans so I started to panic. I think seeing the panic in my eyes saved me form true embarrassment. She simply replied
"Singing I did not hear any singing, but you might have heard the ghost."
"Ghost?"
She echoed as she walked out the door. I looked at Elizabeth and after the girl was long gone I could not stop laughing.

Oh God not Phantom again

During the production of Lion Witch and the Wardrobe I was working on the light board. Well it was my first time using it and I saw this big red button. It was starring at me saying push me, push me, you know you want to. So curiosity got the better of me and I pushed it. Simultaneously all the lights went out in the theater. Fallowing the black out I heard an uproar of screams fallowed by Kevin (our pianist)  playing Phantom of the Opera on the piano.  I started to giggle at the chaos I had caused quite by accident.  I was having so much fun that I forgot that I was wearing the head set.  Apparently all the techs had heard my evil laughter and all they could say was
"Hey Phantom don't touch the big red button."
When I finally stopped laughing I found the button to cancel the black out command. I have heard from the new techs that Kevin still plays my theme every time something goes wrong with the lights.

Phantom's Pets

Ayesha
Who by the way has a fake diamond collar and even though
she is not a Siamese she  does act like the really Ayesha.
I brought her in my home after finding her at a young age by a
pool soaked to the bone and starving. She's quite plump now and loves to bug me while I'm on my pipe organ.
