The year was 1998, I was going to the LA Make-up convention. I had my Lon Chaney Phantom shirt on and was all ready to see Lon Chaney's Make-up case along with Michael F. Blake, but I missed them by a few hours. I seriously became depressed and decided to go into the little horror museum they had set up. I saw that they had Lon Chaney's Unholy Thee coat from the 1930's version on display. I was really up set now that I had missed Lon Chaney's make-up case. After much sulking I walked upstairs and started to go down the aisles of venders, where I found a guy at a booth selling liquid latex and shirts that said 'got latex.' I started to laugh and decided to buy the shirt from him. He then looked at my shirt and told me he was a very big Lon Chaney fan. I then stared to spat off my disgust at not being able to see his case and how the make-up industry would be nothing with out him. We got talking and I told him I had tried to recreate Lon Chaney's Phantom make-up. He then said he would love to see it. I just so happen to have a picture in my wallet and showed it to him. He was extremely impressed and asked if I had been into the Horror museum. I said that I had. Then he asked me if I'd like to try on Lon Chaney's coat. I latterly did a double take and 'said what???' He repeated his question and I was like 'Hell yes.' He then explained the coat was his. One of his good friend's worked in a costume warehouse that had many old costumes from the golden era of film. He was told to clean it out and get rid of things. Him and his friend went threw it together. The man I was talking to said he found an old pen striped suit in almost perfect condition and decided to take it home with him. He put it up on a stand in his office. One day something told him to take the suit home. Two days latter his office burned down. He was amazed that he just so happen to take the mystery suit out of his office before it burned down  so he decided to explore the suit  further. Upon exploration he found that the pocket in the left inside breast had something written on it. 'Lon Chaney Unholy Three MGM 1930.'   He lead me back down stairs to the museum where he told the guard that I was allow to try on the suit and I was allowed behind the rope. Scroll down.
